So ive already looked at a few answers from people trying to tell other how to fix this, it doesnt work for me. I think theyre for playstation or they have some sort of family in microsoft idk, i have neither of those. why is this even a default setting??

So i get into microsoft I see, Account, Your info, Subscriptions, Devices, Security, Privacy.

what am I supposed to do what do I press?

That error usually comes from the Xbox / Microsoft account privacy settings, not Roblox itself. Even if you’re on PC and not using a console, your Windows account still uses those same family and Xbox Live controls.

Try this:

Go to https://account.xbox.com/settings and sign in with the Microsoft account you use for Roblox.

Look under Privacy & Online Safety → Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10/11 devices Online Safety.

Find the option “You can see and upload community creations” and set it to Allow.

Save your changes, then restart Roblox and try again.

If you don’t see these settings, it might mean your account is marked as a child account. In that case, you’d need an organizer account (a parent account in Microsoft Family) to adjust the restrictions.

It’s a bit hidden, but once you allow that setting, Roblox content created by other players should work normally.

I cant find it as the only settings listed under xbox and windows 10 devices online saftey are as follows: You can join cross-network play, you can create and join clubs, live stream gameplay, you can upload captures to xbox, you can share content made using a connected camera, others can share your content tp social networks, you can join multiplayer games, and you can add friends and follow others. Im having trouble finding that setting. Can you tell me how to fix this?

I have everything allowed, but some how it still show the same error over and over again. But when I use another device to enter my account it works perfectly fine. Why?

i have a problem. i've followed your directions, gone to Xbox and Windows 10 devices Online Safety, but I don't see the option you said: "You can see and upload community creations." There are a ton of other options, all set to "Allow". I have the exact problem listed in the prompt but that option is just not there for me, I don't understand!

I am getting the same error on my son's Windows 11.

He can get logged in and when he chooses a game to play a pop up comes up.

The title of the popup is GAME UI

Then "Change your settings to play" and "you can't play content created by other players because of how your account is set up"

I have verified his age and allowed all apps but it still gives the same error.

That message usually means the Xbox/Microsoft account privacy settings are still blocking user-generated content, even if you’ve verified the age. Roblox on PC relies on the same Xbox Live settings.

Here’s what to do:

Sign in with your parent/organizer Microsoft account at https://account.xbox.com/settings.

Select your son’s account.

Under Privacy & Online Safety, look for the option “You can see and upload community creations” → set it to Allow.

Also check “You can join multiplayer games” and “You can communicate outside of Xbox Live with voice & text” if he needs those features.

Save changes, then have him log out of Roblox and back in.

Even if you’ve already “allowed all apps” in Windows settings, these Xbox Live privacy controls are separate and still apply. Once adjusted, the error should disappear and he’ll be able to play games created by other players.
