I've Edge browser as my default. And my search engine is Google.com

since about two months ago, whenever I open - Edge instantly appears this

Google popup. on the lower - Right corner of Edge Home page. Asking

me to Sign in : To Google Chrome account. it looks a silly offer 'cause

as said above. I've Goggle account and Chrome installed too,.? To clarify,

there're 2 Pop-ups : 1 ask to try Chrome - The other ask to Sign in Google acct.

Does anybody have seen, these offers on Edge browser,.?

if I click on the - Edge Home button, the offer disappears. But shows up

again as I continue, closing tabs here and open another site. Suddenly

is shown again. Anybody knows how could I stop it forever. I have Chrome

installed too. But obviously when open that, browser doesn't show the popup

    Hi aReply4u0084,

Thank you for contacting Microsoft Q&A. I understand how disruptive it can be to encounter recurring sign-in prompts, particularly when using Microsoft Edge as your preferred browser. I appreciate you bringing this to our attention and sharing the details of your experience.

The popup you are seeing in the lower-right corner of the Edge homepage is a prompt from Google, encouraging users to sign in to their Google account. This behavior is typically triggered when Google is set as the default search engine and the user is not currently signed in. While this may be intended to enhance cross-platform synchronization, it can understandably feel intrusive, especially when using a browser other than Chrome.

To help you resolve this issue, I recommend these following steps along with disabling extensions on Edge as per above suggestion:

Step 1: Disable Google Account Sign-In Prompts

This method works across all browsers and devices:

    • Visit Google My Account.
    • Navigate to Security > Your Connections to Third-Party Apps & Services.
    • Click See All Connections.
    • Tap the gear icon in the top-right corner.
    • Toggle off Google Account Sign-In Prompts.

You may need to repeat this process for each Google account you are signed into. Once disabled, this setting should prevent the prompt from appearing across all browsers.

*Disclaimer: Microsoft provides no assurances and/or warranties, implied or otherwise, and is not responsible for the information you receive from the third-party linked sites or any support related to technology.

Step 2: Block Popups and disable notifications from Google in Microsoft Edge

    • Open Edge and go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Site permissions > All permissions > Pop-ups and redirects.
    • Ensure Block (recommended) is enabled.
    • Add google.com to the Not allowed to send pop-ups or use redirects list to prevent further prompts.
    • Also in Privacy, search, and services > Site permissions > All permissions > Notifications > Customized behaviors
    • Scroll to Allow and locate google.com.
      • Click the three dots next to it and select Block.

This prevents Google from sending notification-based prompts, including sign-in suggestions.

Step 3: Clear Cookies and Cache

Clearing stored browsing data may help remove session information that triggers the popup:

    • Go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services.
    • Under Clear browsing data, select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files.
    • Click Clear now.

Step 4: Use a Different User Profile in Edge

Creating a new profile can help determine whether the issue is tied to your current profile’s settings or extensions:

    • Click your profile icon in the top-right corner of Edge.
    • Select Add profile and choose Start without signing in.
    • Set up the new profile and test whether the popup still appears.

Please keep me posted on how it goes, and feel free to reach out if you need any further assistance. I'm here to help.

    Hi ,

I'm Dyari. Thanks for reaching out. I will be happy to assist you in this regard.

It seems something else related to Google is running in the background when you are using Edge.

Kindly click on the three dots above > Extensions> Manage Extensions > Disable all the enabled extensions temporarily to see if the issue is fixed.
