I have installed outllook 2024 on my new HP AI type laptop I understand that it will not run outlook classic . I am unable to transfer all my old emails to the new computer. They down load but when i move from the classic mode to the new mode they do not show up .

Was given these instructions Adjust Account Settings & Sync Slider

  • Open Outlook Classic: This step is crucial to adjust the sync settings for your account, as the New Outlook's import functionality may have issues.
  • Go to Account Settings: Navigate to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
  • Open Your Account: Double-click your email account on the Email tab.
  • Set Sync Slider to All: In the Exchange Account Settings window, find the "Download email for the past:" slider and move it to All.
  • Complete the Process: Click Next, then Done, and restart Outlook to let it download all the old emails.

however ther is no slider in my new program. to do this.

How do i solve this

I understand that it will not run outlook classic

It should work... what happens when you try?

They down load but when i move from the classic mode to the new mode they do not show up .

You need to add the PST to new outlook, it doesnt pick it up automatically. But you need a subscription version of office to add a PST to new outlook.

The steps you posted about only apply to Exchange accounts; IMAP accounts also have a sync slider.
