I have 2 local accounts and 1 administrator account on my laptop. When I created another local account and logged in using it, the administrator and one local account disappeared from the login screen.

Please help on this issue and get it resolved ASAP; it’s very urgent for me.

    Hi Gaurav,

This is April, I'll be happy to assist you. Sorry to hear that you're having issue with Windows 11 login screen. Let me help you out.

Based on the description of your issue, when you added a new local account on your Windows 11 laptop, one existing local account and the administrator account vanished from the login screen.

Accounts may disappear from the login screen due to fast user switching limits, hidden settings in Group policy or the Registry, corrupted user profiles or SID entries, or conflicts with account types, such as incorrect admin assignments.

Here's a step-by-step fix to restore missing accounts:

    1. Check all accounts in User Manager
      • Press Win + R, type netplwiz, and press Enter.
      • See if all accounts are still listed.
    2. Show hidden accounts in Registry
      • Press Win + R, type regedit.
      • Go to:
      • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\SpecialAccounts\UserList
      • If any account name has a value of 0, change it to 1 (or delete that entry) to make it visible.
    3. Check Local Users and Groups
      • Press Win + X > "Computer Management" > Local Users and Groups > Users.
      • Ensure the accounts exist and are enabled.
    4. Enable "Users must enter a username and password"
      • In netplwiz, tick Users must enter a username and password to use this computer.
      • This forces Windows to display all available accounts.
    5. Run System File Check
      • Open Command Prompt (Admin).
      • Run: sfc /scannow
      • This will repair any corrupted system files that might cause login issues.

I hope this helps. If the issue continues, please don’t hesitate to contact us again. We’re here to help, and we appreciate your continued trust in us.

    Warm Regards,

    April P.
