Update to Windows 11 is refused due to Processor Intel Core I7-7820HQ.
But this Processor is included in list of valid INTEL-Processors.

What is the reason?

    Hi Xmary,

    1. Microsoft’s official stance on the i7-7820HQ

The i7-7820HQ is not generally supported for Windows 11.

It only appears on the Windows 11 supported processor list with a restriction:

It is supported only in devices shipped with modern DCH (Declarative Componentized Hardware) drivers, such as the Surface Studio 2.

    From Microsoft’s documentation:

“Devices that come with Intel Core X-series, Xeon W-series, and Intel Core 7820HQ (only devices with DCH Design Principles) are supported.”

    2. How to check if your system qualifies:

Run dxdiag or Device Manager → Display adapters.

If your graphics drivers are DCH-compliant (you’ll usually see them distributed via Windows Update instead of OEM EXE packages), you may qualify.

If not, even though the CPU is technically on the list, the upgrade will still be blocked.
