Home Office 2024 cannot save Excel workbooks or updates to existing workbooks

I recently ended my Microsoft 365 subscription. I then purchased Home Office 2024. Existing Excel documents and new Excel documents will not save. The Save and Save As buttons are grey and will not allow me to click on them. No other errors, and had no problem installing. The applications all open as they should and work as expected otherwise. This was the problem when I ended my Microsoft 365 subscription and why I just purchased the software outright for this computer. I also keep getting prompted to restart my Microsoft 365 subscription. Help!

That was most likely because Microsoft 365 by default saves your documents to OneDrive online, if you experience the problem again with any Office documents, try downloading them from OneDrive online to your PC, or if OneDrive is set to 'Files on Demand' disable that in OneDrive settings so a copy of your files is kept on your PC drive.
