Microsoft 365 features that help users manage their subscriptions, account settings, and billing information.
Hi, thanks for reaching out. I understand you want to switch your subscription billing region. I’m here to help.
Please note: I’m not a Microsoft employee, just a fellow community member. I’ll share the right steps with you, but I don’t have access to accounts or billing systems.
Important: Funds in your Microsoft account don’t move with you. Spend any remaining balance before changing your account location, because Microsoft can’t transfer money between regions.
Also, the billing country/region cannot be changed on an active subscription. The billing region is locked to the payment profile you set when the subscription was first purchased.
Here are your options:
- Cancel your current subscription tied to the UK region. Once it ends, you can update your region and then re-purchase the subscription in your new country.
- Add a new payment profile If you’ve moved permanently, you can create a new Microsoft account payment profile in your new country and buy the subscription there.
See this article for reference: Change your country or region in Microsoft Store
If you only travel between countries and don’t live there permanently, the subscription must remain in the country where it was originally purchased.
If you still need assistance, the best step is to contact Microsoft Support directly. They can review your subscription and account settings securely and give you the most accurate guidance for your region and data.
