Using New Outlook on Windows for professional communication and productivity
Hi @Michael Bertie,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
I really appreciate the detailed explanation you shared. I understand how important those reminders are for staying on top of your tasks, especially when they span across daily, weekly, and annual duties. It’s frustrating when something that used to work smoothly suddenly stops, and I’m here to help you get things back on track.
From what you described, it sounds like New Outlook may be automatically dismissing reminders for past events, especially after you've been away for a while. This could explain why you didn’t see a backlog of missed reminders and why only meeting notifications are coming through now.
To migrate this, please try the following steps:
1/ Go to Settings > General > Notifications > Calendar
2/ Under the Calendar section:
- Set Reminder style to Popup
- Enable Sound
- Check Show reminders on top of other windows
- Turn OFF the setting for “Automatically dismiss reminders for past events”
- Click on Save button
This last option is especially important, it ensures that reminders stay visible until you manually clear them, even if you were away when they first popped up.
You can find Microsoft’s official guide here for more details: Add or delete notifications or reminders in Outlook
I hope this information is helpful. Please follow these steps and let me know if it works for you. If not, we can work together to resolve this.
Thank you for your patience and your understanding. Should you have any questions or need further assistance, feel free to reach out at any time.
