Dear @Ronnie Love - ADM,
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Q&A!
I understand that your users are experiencing difficulties switching from Tenant A to Tenant B in Microsoft Teams after changing their Windows password.
Firstly, to further narrow down the issue and provide the most accurate support, could you please help clarify the following:
- When you say users are “unable to switch” to Tenant B, could you describe exactly what happens?
- Do they receive an error message?
- Does the switch option not appear at all?
- Does it hang or crash?
- Could you please provide a screenshot of the issue as it appears on the user’s screen?
- Have you tried switching tenants on a different device (e.g., another PC or a clean virtual machine)? If so, does the issue persist?
- Are all affected users using the same version of Teams and Windows build?
These details will help me better understand the scope of the issue and tailor the solution accordingly.
In the meantime, you can try my suggestion below:
- To check Windows Credential: The old credentials are typically cached in the following locations on a Windows device, which can interfere with switching tenants in Microsoft Teams after a password change: In the Windows search bar, type Credential Manager and open it. For more details, please check this reference: Credential Manager in Windows - Microsoft Support Teams also stores session data locally, which may retain outdated tokens. Path:
C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Teams - Reinstall Teams
- Uninstall the current version of Teams
- Download and install the latest version from the official Microsoft Teams site
- Re-authenticate
- Launch Teams and sign in with the updated credentials
- Attempt to switch to Tenant B again
Please let me know once you've had a chance to try the steps above and provide the additional information. I’m happy to assist!
We appreciate your kind patience and understanding that sometimes the initial response may not immediately resolve the issue or there may be some misunderstandings about your scenario, but we would love to hear updates from you and find out further suggestions.
Best Regards.
