Inbox folders keep moving around

My folders are constantly jumping around, they move while I am organizing new emails (things end up in wrong folders because it bumped down the one I was aiming for) and when I open my email after the weekend. This is causing problems and is incredibly annoying. Is there a reason it does this? Can it be fixed?

    Hi @Aleeshya

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

After doing some research, I found that this issue happens inconsistently.

Here are some of the troubleshooting steps I gather, you can try:

Reset Navigation Pane: Sometimes, resetting the navigation pane can resolve issues with folder arrangement. To do this, close Outlook and then press Win + R and type outlook.exe /resetnavpane

It also could be the mismatch from the server:

    • Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
    • Select your email account and click Change.
    • Uncheck Use Cached Exchange Mode and restart Outlook.
    • Reorder your folders as desired, wait a minute or sync manually.
    • Re-enable Cached Exchange Mode and restart Outlook

Lastly, if the issue persists, you can create a new Outlook profile (This doesn't affect your data)

I hope this information helps, please try and let me know if it works for you.

If not, we can figure out another approach.
