    Hello @Kim Austen

Thank you for reaching out and sharing the details of your issue.

To help investigate this further, could you please confirm a few details about your setup:

    1. Are you using a personal Microsoft account (e.g., Outlook.com, Hotmail) or a work/school account provided by your organization?
    2. Are you sending the invitations from the Teams desktop app, web version, or mobile app
    3. Is your Teams account linked to an external email provider (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo), or is it using a Microsoft-hosted domain?
    4. Do you have multiple email aliases associated with your account?
    5. Have recipients confirmed that their replies are bouncing or not reaching you?

If possible, could you share an example of the “strange Outlook address” that appears in the invitation?

I think what you mean is that your invitee should have received your invitation, but the email address shown is a virtual Outlook address, a randomly generated combination of letters and numbers with the domain outlook.com.

This typically happens when you're using an email address with a third-party domain name (e.g., Gmail, Yahoo). Microsoft Teams converts it into a virtual Outlook address when sending invitations. As a result, invitees cannot reply to that email, and you won’t receive reminders or responses.

Please provide the above details so I can better understand your environment and offer the most accurate guidance.

    Looking forward to your response.

The way in which I work, is that I create the meeting in teams which sends the invite to the invitees.

I also copy the meeting invite and create a meeting in my Gmail outlook Calendar, paste the teams invite into the notes of the outlook calendar invites and send it to invitees who have requested that I send an invite on outlook which will update their outlook calendars.

i then also send an email with the Teams invitation link to the invitees.

When they reply to my email, outlook is also creating a virtual email address for me, as well as other people I have copied into the mail, so none of us receive the recipient’s responses or replies.
