Nothing changed on my laptop other than updating to the newest EDGE version. Guess I'm going to have to switch to Chrome or Firefox. This is garbage and you don't even acknowledge that YOU BROKE IT.

**I’m experiencing exactly the same issue on version 141.0.3537.57.

I’ve tried all the suggested steps (enabled “Offer to save passwords,” removed declined sites, confirmed that passwords aren’t cleared on exit, disabled password-manager extensions, reset Edge, re-synced, etc.) — but the autofill still fails to prepopulate login forms.

On some sites Edge does prompt to save when I enter new credentials, but it never fills them in automatically afterward.

This seems like a regression in this version. Please include me in this issue and escalate it to the engineering team. I can provide specific site examples and diagnostic logs if needed.

    Thanks.

    Hi @Mark Henderson ,

    Thanks for reaching out.

When Microsoft Edge no longer remembers usernames, email addresses, or passwords, here are a few checks you can go through:

    1. Enable password prompts
      • Go to edge://settings/autofill/passwords.
      • Make sure Ask to save passwords is turned on.
    2. Ensure passwords aren’t cleared on exit
      • Go to Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Choose what to clear every time you close the browser.
      • Confirm that Passwords and Cookies and other site data are not selected.
    3. Review sync settings
      • Go to Settings → Profiles → Sync and verify that Passwords is enabled.
      • If sync looks fine but the issue persists, sign out and back in, or create a new test profile.
    4. Check the Declined sites and apps list
      • Navigate to edge://settings/autofill/passwords/settings.
      • Under Declined sites and apps, remove any websites you previously blocked from saving passwords.
      • This allows Edge to prompt you again the next time you sign in on those sites.
    5. Look for conflicts
      • Temporarily disable password-manager extensions or antivirus tools that might override Edge’s password saving.
    6. Reset or update Edge
      • Go to Settings → About Microsoft Edge and install the latest updates.
      • If needed, use Reset settings → Restore settings to their default values to fix misconfiguration.
    7. Consider website limitations
      • Some websites use non-standard login forms (missing autocomplete attributes), which prevents Edge from detecting and offering to save credentials.

If none of these steps help, you might want to use a dedicated password manager as a reliable workaround.

Hope this helps! If my answer was useful, please mark it as accepted so others with the same issue can benefit.

I create restore points weekly for issues that take place with all apps, just like this. As soon as this has been submitted I will be recording this (undesirable) version of Edge that is now installed and pausing updates until a new version of Edge is available. Note - You would have to make some configuration changes to the System Restore (increase the memory allocated to this operation) to ensure it maintains a history of a few updates.

Experiencing same issue..tried all of the above and it is still NOT working for many sites. Please update us if there is an additional work around or update to resolve this. My job has me sign into multiple websites daily & the websites are timing out. I cant fathom re-entering my information 100+ times a day.
