I am getting the error message:

Your device is missing important security and quality fixes.

There were problems downloading some updates, but we'll try again later. If you keep seeing this, try searching the web or contacting support for help. This error code might help: (0x80070057)

I'm trying to do this on an HP Z8, which is only about a year old.

    Hi, There

As I know, he error 0x80070057 usually means Windows Update ran into corrupted files, disk issues, or driver conflicts. Could you try this steps bellow and let me know the result:

    1. Run Windows Update Troubleshooter: Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Windows Update > Run.

    2. Check your disk: Open admin Command Prompt > chkdsk C: /f /r > restart.

    3. Reset Update components: In admin Command Prompt and run:

    net stop wuauserv
    net stop cryptSvc
    net stop bits
    net stop msiserver
    ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
    net start wuauserv
    net start cryptSvc
    net start bits
    net start msiserver

    4. Repair system files:

    sfc /scannow
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    5. Update HP drivers & BIOS from HP Support.

    6. Try Windows Update Assistant if it still fails.
