I recently signed up for Extending Windows 10 Updates for the next year.. It was Free.. (thru my Settings page). But, I just received an email from Microsoft offering this Extended Update for $30..on time fee.. What is going on ?

    Hi, good day!

If your PC shows that ESU is already active under Settings > Update & Security, you don't need to pay because you're already covered.

The $30 email offer you received is the official paid program for individual consumers (a one-time fee per PC for one year of security updates). It’s meant for users who haven’t enrolled yet, or who aren’t eligible for the free rollout.
