OneDrive "Finish Back Up" message in OneDrive Menu will not go away

I recently upgraded to Win 11 from Win 10 - both Home. I don't want OneDrive (Personal) doing any Backups as I have my own program doing that. After I upgraded, Win 11 changed OneDrive settings to do Backups. I caught it (I interrupted the Backup process) before it did too much Backup work but what remains is this Message (see attached pic) that won't go away.

I still want to use OneDrive for file sharing purposes (which works fine) but do not want to use the Backup feature.

What I have done:

All appropriate (Doc's, Pictures, etc..) Folders in OneDrive and Explorer are set not to Backup.

I did a Reset on OneDrive using a Run CMD.

OneDrive notifications are turned off.

All Folders created during the Backup it started have been deleted.

Any other ideas how how to clear this message? Just a nuisance to always see this message in OneDrive plus the little "i" icon in Sys Tray.

Hi, and welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

To keep files from syncing to OneDrive, ensure that the backup is disabled in Manage Backup:

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/back-up-your-folders-with-onedrive-d61a7930-a6fb-4b95-b28a-6552e77c3057

If the backup continues to re-enable itself, you may want to reconsider storing your data in the Desktop, Documents, Pictures, Music, and Videos Standard folders, as these are the only folders that may be affected by OneDrive.

If you are backing up your files using a third-party program, consider storing the bulk of your data on a separate partition on the C: drive.

    I hope that helps.

    Craig

Thank you for trying to help. Yes all five standard folders that OneDrive wants to Backup are disabled in OneDrive under Manage Backup. So no Backup is occurring and only this Message I want to get rid of is always showing. OneDrive wants to Finish Backing Up but can't (which is what I want).

Was hoping to find a way to clear the Message and then this issue would be Closed.

After about a week, the Message went away on its own. Solved :-) So far anyway....
