Hi Terry Rogers, thanks for posting and I totally get how frustrating it is when you’re excited to play Flight Simulator on a new laptop and the activation code just won’t cooperate. Let’s go through a few things that might help get you flying again.
First, check if the code has already been redeemed
If you’ve used the code before, it’s likely already tied to your Microsoft account. That means you don’t need to enter it again.
Sign in to the Microsoft Store or Xbox app using the same account you used when you first activated Flight Simulator
Go to the Library section and look for Microsoft Flight Simulator Premium Deluxe
You should see an option to install it directly
If it’s not showing up
Make sure you’re signed in to both the Microsoft Store and Xbox app with the same account
Go to Settings then Time and Language then Date and Time and make sure both “Set time automatically” and “Set time zone automatically” are turned on. Then click Synchronize your clock
Try resetting the Microsoft Store by pressing Windows key plus R, typing WSReset.exe, and hitting Enter
You can also run the Gaming Services Repair Tool from the Xbox app or download it from Microsoft’s support site
If you’re using the DVD version
If you have the boxed DVD edition and the code says it’s already redeemed, that’s normal. Just sign in with the same account you used originally and install the game from the DVDs. Once installed, launch it from the Store or Xbox app
A few tips from other users:
Some folks found that syncing the system clock helped resolve activation issues
Others had better luck activating through the Xbox app instead of the Microsoft Store
If you’re redeeming a retail code, make sure you’re doing it at microsoft.com/redeem and not inside the game.
Let me know how it goes happy to help.
If you found the response helpful feel free to mark my answer as helpful, it might make it easier for others to find the solution too.
Best,
