Well, it looks like I pressed something without knowing it and now the formatting on all my docs is messed up .. the docs open much smaller than usual and it is on 125% .. how do I get back to normal formatting?

    Hi,

When you say the docs open smaller than usual but show 125%, that sounds like the Zoom setting or View mode in Word for Mac might have changed or possibly the display scaling on your Mac itself.

Here are a few things you can check step by step:

    Reset Zoom in Word:

    Open one of your documents.

Go to the View tab on the toolbar.

Look for Zoom and set it back to 100% (that’s the standard size).

You can also hold the Command key and press 0 (zero) to quickly reset zoom.

    Check "View Mode":

Make sure you’re in Print Layout view (under the View menu).

If you’re in Draft or Web Layout, it can make text and margins look strange.

Check Mac Display Settings (if Word looks small even at 100%):

Click the Apple menu > System Settings > Displays.

Check the Resolution or Scaling , sometimes it switches to "More Space," which makes everything smaller.

Just to get a better picture, when you say the docs open smaller, do you mean the text itself looks tiny inside the page, or does the whole Word window (toolbars, margins, everything) look shrunken down?

    Kind regards,

Please don't go to extremes just yet... Irresponsible replies offering multiple solutions without sufficient factual information describing the problem run rampant in this venue.

The probable issue based on such a limited description is that you have inadvertently hidden what Microsoft refers to as White Space . Please visit that link first

If that doesn't correct the issue pleas provide a more detailed explanation as well as a screen shot of the entire document window depicting the problem.
