The image you attached shows Excel document, not Word. To insert page numbers, you need to open a Word document.

I want to add page numbers to a Word document. I referred to a Microsoft article "Insert page numbers"

The article says "On the Insert tab, select Page Number"
My document doesn't show a Page Number option.
The text in the image is quite small, but I don't see anything that looks like a page number option.

The image you attached shows Excel document, not Word. To insert page numbers, you need to open a Word document.
In Excel (shown in your screen shot), use the Page Setup dialog box to add page numbers. Go to the Page Layout ribbon tab and click the dialog launcher icon in the Page Setup group. In the dialog box, go to the Header/Footer tab and use the Footer (or Header) drop down to add page numbers.
