I accidentally broke the screen on my Lenovo Ideapad Slim 3. I need to download my data to a flash drive before I send it off for (not covered by Lenovo) 3rd party warranty repairs. Please use simple terms. Thanks!

    Hello,

You can use software like EaseUS Todo Backup, AOMEI Backupper, Clonezilla, RescueZilla, and Macrium to back up your files to a flash drive.

You can then restore the backup to the computer if needed by using the respective option to do so in the app.

Make sure that your flash drive is has a storage capacity that is greater than or equal to the capacity of the disk you have in your laptop.

    Hope this helps.

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

If the screen is completely unusable and you can’t see anything, you can remove the laptop’s hard drive and connect it to another computer using a USB to SATA adapter (these are inexpensive and plug right into another PC).

From there, you can open the drive like a regular folder and copy your files to your flash drive.

Keep in mind that if your drive is protected with BitLocker encryption, you’ll be asked for your BitLocker recovery key before you can open the files.

Also, if the files you need were synced with OneDrive, you can check your online storage from any browser by signing in at https://onedrive.live.com
