I can't log in to MS Teams because of authenticator problem

Hello there, so, my college uses Microsoft Teams for assignments, schoolwork, etc. When I tried to login with my computer, it asked me to use an authenticator, which I complied and installed it, although I realized that something might be wrong with it, but since my Teams worked, I couldn't care less. Yesterday, I was logged out from my account in Teams and it asked me for a code in the authenticator, meanwhile, the authenticator doesn't show any code, the account was greyed out. When I try to sign in again in authenticator, it asked me for another code again, trapping me in a loophole. What can I do to fix this? Do I need to go to my college administrator? Here I attach the error code

    Hello @Micho Amadeo

    Welcome to Q&A forum!

In this case, I need to narrow down a few details to confirm the issue, and I’ll also guide you on how to reach out to your college administrator so they can revoke the authentication, allowing you to set up the Authenticator again for future sign-ins.

To ensure I fully understand the issue you’re experiencing, please confirm the following:

    1. Which type of account are you using?

    • Personal account (e.g., hotmail.com, outlook.com)
    • Educational account (e.g., @edu_)
    • Business account (e.g., @yourcompany.com)

    2. Can you access Microsoft Teams using the web version?

    3. Have you re-added your account in Microsoft Authenticator? (If the issue continues, please follow the guidance below to reach out to your IT admin for further assistance.)

Additionally, you can contact your IT administrator to revoke the authentication for your account by following the provided guidance. After that, you’ll be able to re-register your Authenticator.

In the Entra admin center, an administrator can set user accounts to require a re-enrollment of multi-factor authentication (MFA). Ask your administrator to follow the steps shown in the following article:

Manage user authentication methods for Microsoft Entra multi-factor authentication

Require re-enrollment MFA: This disables all previous authentication methods. You'll then be prompted to set up a new MFA authentication method the next time you try to sign in, so you can add a new authenticator app.

If you’re unsure who the Global Admin is within your school account's organization, you can find guidance on locating them here: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support.

Since this is a sensitive and complex issue related to account security, I kindly ask for your patience and recommend following the steps to regain your access.

I highly appreciate your valuable time and your cooperation during this process

Hopefully, you can resolve this issue soon!
