I want to upgrade from Office 365 Personal to a business plan to get a branded email address. Will I need to adjust my website settings? How?

Hello,

So you would need to cancel your personal plan first, then subscribe to the business plan. They are two separate plans, there's no in-place upgrade.

During the business plan sign up, you can create a business username in this format: username @ businessname.onmicrosoft.com. Here username and businessname will be defined by you. And the domain onmicrosoft.com is offered to you.

Then you can work on bringing your own domain in once the plan is set up with above username. You would refer to here to add domain:https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/admin/setup/add-domain?view=o365-worldwide

It is through a group that registered my new LLC - and I know the name server. Is that enough to ensure that the website and the branded email address are linked up?

If you were to sign up for Msft 365 business, make sure you pick a plan that included Exchange, then you can put the MX, TXT and CNAME records provided by Microsoft in your domain registrar DNS, this way branded emails send/receive will go through Microsoft.

As for website, you would need to do the same with your website hosting service. Put their record in your domain registrar.
