I can't seem to get the extended updates for windows 10. The support ended on 14 October. I was expecting to see something come up in updates that would allow me to enrol. Instead I went through a link (at the top of the page) saying what I needed to do now that support for windows 10 had ended. I followed the links which said get extended security updates. Then just as I thought I was getting somewhere, I keep getting the message 'something has gone wrong , try again later. There is no explanation as to the problem.

Is anyone able to help

Hello Stephen Pye, Thanks for posting this in our community. Sorry to hear you're having trouble accessing the Extended Security Updates (ESU) for Windows 10. I understand how frustrating it can be when you're following all the right steps and still run into an error like "Something went wrong, try again later."

Before enrolling in the ESU program, please make sure your system meets all the necessary requirements. You can find the full checklist here: Windows 10 Consumer Extended Security Updates (ESU)

It's also worth noting that ESU enrollment is rolling out gradually. Some users may experience temporary backend issues depending on their region or account status. If everything seems in order but you're still seeing the error, it might help to wait a few days and try again.

In the meantime, one step that has helped others is unlinking and re-linking your Microsoft account. To do this, go to Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts, remove your Microsoft account, restart your PC, then re-add the account and make sure it's properly synced.

    Kind regards,

    John Oli
