    Hi ,

I understand your situation. Check if the sound icon has a white or red x. If it's white, click the icon in the taskbar at the bottom left. Click the icon again to activate the sound.

If it's red, follow the steps below:

Select Start > Settings > System.

    1. Scroll down and select Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
    2. Go to Audio section and click the Run button to start the audio troubleshooter.

Open Device Manager, and make sure you've audio drivers installed and properly working.

You can visit your device manufacturer's website to download audio drivers for your system model.

Try updating audio drivers to latest version.

Or if you've already updated them, try to roll back previous version to see if that works.

Run Playing Audio troubleshooter from Settings app > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters. Let us know what it reports back.
