Received a CMOS Checksum error or CMOS battery loss occurs. Reboot/restart worked but date/time was wrong. Re-sync fixed the date/time. Do I have to change the CR2032 battery in my ACER Predator computer which is only a year old?

Hi, I'm Jan, and I'm happy to help you today. This error will only appear if the BIOS detects corrupted or missing configuration data. This can be due to a sudden power loss/surge, a BIOS update/reset or often caused by a weak battery. If restarting resolves the error and retains accurate time afterward, it’s a strong indication that the CMOS battery is still working as expected.
