I am having a common problem with the Windows Update. I skipped the 24H2 update and I am now attempting to install the 25H2 update and running into the same problem
I've chatted with Windows Tech Support, after being directed initially to accounts and billing for whatever reason, and they pointed out that I do not seem to have a system reserved partition in my boot drive.
My computer specs are as follows:
Can anyone walk me through the process of updating this computer to 25H2
The creation of a system reserve partition, downloads, command line, etc.
I am not a computer scientist, so it will have to be explained in a clear, step-by-step process, ideally with pictures.
The system itself has already been rebuilt with a new hard-drive after the factory-spec melted down, so things might be a little out of place.

2025-10-21T12:03:14+00:00 I tried downloading the ISO from the microsoft website and running a clean install to create a system reserved partition, and it shot straight to the "Windows Update" popup

When speaking with support, it was mentioned that a clean install of windows is possible-- I did one in the immediacy of a rebuild after the harddrive melted down --Should I have to do a full reinstall, again, I assume I can simply download my copy of windows and do the full reinstall but I'd like to avoid losing all of my files and having to undergo the process of data transfers etc.

In your case, a clean reinstall would be ideal, as the partitions are separate. We can try to create them. However, if any process fails, you may lose access to Windows. The best method would be to make a backup and reinstall Windows via a clean USB drive.

Should I feel the need to be concerned about the continued reminders to update, and conduct any subsequent checks as to what might be going on with my computer, or can I rely on this particular publication in terms of its hardware's relationship to the Windows update?

Well, I believe your laptop will receive 25h2 after a while. If not, some devices already have it. You can take Lenovo's information into account, but this may change over time. However, in my opinion, your laptop can be used to install 25h2 if you meet the requirements.
