Dear @Johannes Kingma,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.
I understand that you are attempting to reuse an assignment from another team, even though you have followed the correct steps.
In Microsoft Teams for education, when you select Create > From existing and choose another team, the assignments list will only show assignments that meet these conditions:
- The source team must be a Class Team (not a Standard Team).
- Assignments must be created using the Assignments tab, not Classwork or other third-party apps.
- You must have teacher permission in the source team (the team you want to copy from) and the target team. (the team you’re trying to copy to)
- The source team must be active (not deleted or permanently archived).
- If the source and target teams are of different types (e.g., Class Team > Standard Team). Assignments may not be visible due to compatibility limitations.
To help me better understand the situation and assist you effectively, could you please share a few details such as:
1/ Are you listed as an owner or member of the source team?
2/ Do you have teacher permission in both the source and target teams?
3/ Can you confirm whether the source team and target team are Class Team or Standard Team?
4/ Was the assignment created via the Assignments tab, Classwork, or a third-party app?
5/ Is the source team currently active, or has it been archived?
This will help us better understand the context and provide more targeted support. Any additional information will help us better understand and support you.
