Speakers, HDMI and Digital Audio HDMI are disabled, like the toggles that could enable them in System>Sound>All sound devices. How do I fix? Tried EVERYthing Windows 11 Help recommended.

    Hi,

If your speakers and HDMI audio are disabled and the toggles are grayed out, open Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers, and make sure your audio device (like Realtek, Intel, or NVIDIA) is enabled, right-click and select Enable device if not. If it’s missing, select Action > Scan for hardware changes or Update driver > Search automatically to reinstall it. Then open Control Panel > Sound > Playback, right-click inside the list, enable Show Disabled Devices, and right-click your Speakers or HDMI output to Enable them manually, this often bypasses the locked toggle issue. Finally, run Services.msc, restart Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder, and reboot your computer; this refreshes the sound service if it’s frozen or misconfigured.

    Kind regards,
