Skype doesn't allow me to use up or keep my balance active nor does it offer a refund

Today (2025. Oct.) I received an email notification from Skype saying "credit will become inactive in 7 days" unless I call any phone number or send a text message.

This has happened several times before as well, and I carried out hte requested actions, but I can't anymore, becasue Skype no longer exists as of early 2025.

If - on desktop - I launch Skype, it tells me to use Teams instead.

If - on desktop - I launch Teams, it tells me to use the web version of Teams instead.

When I log into web version of Teams, there is no option to start a phone call (or send text message).

I would like to get a refund from Microsoft (to get back my previously uploaded funds) or at least keep my baplance active and know how can I use it instead of Skype.

Many thanks for your help.

Best,

Robert

Unused Skype Credit cannot be refunded.

You can still make calls using your credit from Skype Dial Pad site on the Web:

    https://calling.web.skype.com/

Just be sure to sign in to this site with exactly the same account as you have used with Skype.

In the case your credit has expired due to not being used within the last 180 days, you can reactivate your credit using this reactivation site:

    https://secure.skype.com/portal/settings/credit/reactivate
