Windows update affecting some printing issues

With the last Windows 11 update, it affected my HP printer by not allowing me to select certain pages to print. The only way it works is if I print all pages of a document and that is one big waste. I contacted HP and we deleted the printer added it back, made sure all the software and firm ware were up to date. This did not correct the problem. If I try to print just certain pages, then it gets stuck in the cashed and then nothing prints.

HP stated that this is a problem with the latest Windows 11 update. My computer is only 1 month old and my printer is only 6 months old.

I need a fix for this.

Hi Jerry, Thanks for posting here in Microsoft community, here's a fix you can try.

First, try to Uninstall the Printer Driver Completely, Press Win + R, type printui.exe /s, go to Driver’s tab, remove all HP drivers.

Next, Reinstall Using HP's Full Software Package, Download the latest full driver/software from HP's support site. https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers?%7B=

Also try to Disable IPP Over USB if applicable to do this go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer then Printer Properties then Ports tab then unchecks any IPP/Internet Printing Protocol options.

Try to Install Windows Update KB5053657, This update fixes USB printer bugs. Go to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates and install it manually if needed.

Also, try Printing via Microsoft Print to PDF First, as a workaround, print selected pages to PDF, then print the PDF file.

I hope this helps you out, let me know how it goes.

I am having the same issue!

I’m having trouble uninstalling my printer driver. I recently renamed my printer, and I’m not sure if that may be causing the issue. There are no pending updates on my system.

I also tried using Microsoft Print to PDF as a workaround, but that didn’t work because Windows won’t allow me to open the saved PDF file.

Please help resolve this issue as soon as possible. I do a lot of printing, and ever since this update occurred, it has completely disrupted my workflow and significantly slowed down how I get things done efficiently.

Thank you for your time and assistance.
