How to install the feature for Traditional Chinese typing with Microsoft Pinyin input?

I reset my Aspire 5 of 24H2 to its factory state with a bootable USB and then upgraded to 25H2 OS. I tried to reinstall something in Time & Language for enabling Traditional Chinese typing feature. However, the Microsoft Pinyin Input option is not there any more.

Could any relevant users please tell whether it is of the changes in 25H2, or I might have done something incorrect for that?

Thank you very much!

    Hi GymJim,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum. I understand how important it is to have the right input method available after resetting your device and upgrading to Windows 25H2.

Please note that Microsoft Pinyin is primarily designed for Simplified Chinese. For Traditional Chinese typing, Windows recommends using Microsoft Bopomofo, which is designed specifically for Traditional Chinese characters. Here’s how you can set it up:

    1. Open Settings > Time & Language > Language & Region.
    2. Under Preferred languages, click Add a language.
    3. Search for Chinese (Traditional, Taiwan) or Chinese (Traditional, Hong Kong) and add it.
    4. After adding, click three dots on that language then choose More options > Language options.
    5. Under Keyboards, click Add a keyboard > select Microsoft Bopomofo.
    6. Once added, you can switch between keyboards using Win + Space or the language bar.

If you don’t see these options, please ensure the language packs and optional features are fully installed. Sometimes, after a factory reset and upgrade, these components need to be re-downloaded.

In case you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I'm here to help.

Hi again! I m sorry for my memory which became inappropriate for 25H2. Based on ur advice, It was no difficulties for me to call out my expected feature for traditional Chinese typing with Bopomofo, previously was Pinyin.

What a helpful communication circle here!😍

Thank you n have a great day!
