    Dear @john holmess,

Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

According to the screenshot and the details you’ve tried, I understand how confusing it can be when you see a 301 Moved Permanently message instead of the expected page.

In this case, according to my research, when you request https://google.com, the server responds with 301 Moved Permanently. This tells your client that the resource has been permanently moved to a new URL. Websites often enforce a canonical domain (like www.google.com) for consistency, SEO, and security, so Google uses a redirect to ensure everyone lands on the preferred address.

Moreover, please check your server configuration or CMS to ensure you’re using 301 for permanent changes. In your case: http://google.com > redirects to http://www.google.com. This is standard behavior for many websites, including Google, to enforce a preferred domain.

By default, "curl" does not follow redirects. It simply reports the 301 response and stops, which is why you’re not seeing the actual page content. To make "curl" follow the redirect and fetch the final page, use the -L option (For example: curl -L https://google.com). This will retrieve the content from https://www.google.com.
