Hello @Michael Zafirov
Thank you for reaching out and sharing the details of your experience.
Based on my research, the iPad Pro requires a license that includes desktop app usage in order to unlock full editing capabilities in Word and PowerPoint.
You can refer to this article for more details: What you can do in the Microsoft 365 apps on mobile devices
Could you help check what license is currently assigned to your account? You can do this by visiting the following link: https://portal.office.com/account/?ref=Harmony Then select “View Subscriptions” and let us know which license type is listed there.
If your license type is Microsoft 365 A1, it does not include desktop app usage on devices like iPad Pro. In that case, I recommend contacting your school’s IT administrator to ask whether there is an option to upgrade your license to A3 or A5, which do support full functionality on larger mobile devices.
For your reference: Compare Microsoft 365 Education Plans | Microsoft Education
If you confirm that you already have an A3 or A5 license, but the issue persists, please inform your IT administrator. They can verify your license status from their end and, if necessary, re-provision it. Your university’s IT department is the administrator of your license and will be best positioned to assist further.
Lastly, have you signed in to Office apps on multiple mobile devices? Microsoft 365 subscriptions typically allow sign-in on up to 5 mobile devices. If you've reached that limit, it could be affecting activation on your iPad.
Thank you again for bringing this to our attention. I look forward to your response and am happy to assist you further.
