Additional authentication is required - 120 users locked out of their Microsoft Accounts

Hi there,

Over 120 of our users have been locked out of their Microsoft accounts due to the following message:

Keep your account secure Additional authentication is required to complete this sign-in. Contact your admin to register one or more of these authentication methods for you: Temporary Access Pass (one-time use) Temporary Access Pass (multi-use)

Unfortunately, none of our admins have been able to access the Admin Centre since Monday. We’ve been trying to get in touch with the Data Protection team, raised two tickets, and still haven’t received any support. It’s now Wednesday—three days later—and our entire company is still unable to work.

Could you please help us resolve this as soon as possible?

    I'm sorry, no one here can access your account. The admin needs to speak with Data Protection. The numbers are in this article: https://learn.microsoft.com/microsoft-365/admin/support-contact-info?view=o365-worldwide&WT.mc_id=M365-MVP-6934

    Call during your country's business hours. If you get the phone bot (and not immediately told to use the admin portal) make sure you ask for the data protection team and say "I cannot access admin center and I am the only admin user".
