Locked Out of Azure Account Due to Lost Authenticator Access

Hello,

I am currently locked out of my Azure account: Username: Tenant domain: (note: P.S. I couldn't find an appropriate child tag so I picked Azure Role-based access control which is probably not accurate.)

I’ve used this account regularly for years, but since I got my new phone, I’ve been unable to sign in. The issue began when I replaced my phone and lost access to the Microsoft Authenticator app that was configured for this account. I did not have backup MFA methods set up, and I am now stuck in a loop where the sign-in process prompts me to approve the request in the Authenticator app — which I can no longer access.

I’ve tried alternate sign-in options, but none are available. I am the owner of this account and need assistance to:

  • Reset or disable MFA temporarily so I can regain access
  • Or provide an alternate method to verify my identity and reconfigure MFA

Please let me know what steps I need to take to verify ownership and recover access. I’m happy to provide any additional information you require.

Thank you for your help, Lou Gallo

    Hello @Loug,

The issue pertains to a tenant lockout, where no other global admin in the tenant has the necessary permissions to login and make changes in your tenant.

To resolve this, we have engaged our Data Protection team through a support ticket. They will reach out to you via email or phone to help restore access to the tenant and assist in resolving the issue.

Once the issue has been resolved by our support team, please feel free to revisit and kindly click "Accept Answer," as this will be helpful to other community members facing similar issues.
