Unable to select words with Magic Keyboard on iOS 26

I am unable to select words in Microsoft word using my iPad Magic Keyboard on iOS 26.01. How do I I fix this problem?

I’m having the same problem and it’s definitely not an issue with magic keyboard. It’s a brand new keyboard and I can select text in other apps. I think it’s a problem with copilot disrupting the ability to select text. please fix this in your App ASAP.

I can understand that you are facing an issue where you can't select words in Microsoft Word using your iPad Magic Keyboard on iOS 26.01.

Please try the follow steps to help resolve this:

Test text selection by touch first, if it works then it is likely your keyboard issue.
Check hardware keyboard settings in Settings > General > Keyboard > Hardware Keyboard.
Kindly test on other apps (Pages, Notes) to see if the issue still occurs, if yes then it's likely an iPadOS issue.

I'd suggest posting your question on the Apple Support Community as well to see if other members facing the same issue. And you can also submit and feedback via Word: "Help" > "Send feedback"

Thanks. To your suggestions:

Touch works at selecting words

settings seem to be okay

touchpad selecting works on all other apps except Microsoft word

I am quite certain is a Microsoft word problem but will post on apple too
