IE Crash when I try to launch UWP app using URI scheme(e.g. "slack:").
Only in IE, it does not occur in Edge or Chrome.

Is there any solution such as changing the IE settings?

steps to reproduce

  1. Install the uwp app(e.g. "slack") in microsoft store.
  2. Click the link in HTML like this. ↓ index.html <!DOCTYPE html> <body> <a href="slack:">Slack APP</a> </body>

    Hello @shuntaro4

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community.

First try to run "sfc /scannow" and see if it gives you error then try by disabling plugins in IE,

    winkey+r>iexplore.exe -extoff

if that doesn't work, try by restoring health, open cmd and run below commands

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth

    DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Also try by Re-registering the dll, Open cmd with admin and run below command

    regsvr32 IEFRAME.dll
