Hi Microsoft,

Having landed in Antigua from the UK on October 16th, my account has been blocked, and I am unable to recover. I submitted a request account reinstatement yesterday but received an unsatisfactory response stating that I needed to continue attempting to recover my account, and if all else fails, create a new Outlook which is not an option. Please note that I have attempted to recover my account twice every 24 hours inputting different and correct possibilities for the required information to do so. Furthermore, I have downloaded a VPN to attempt to use a UK IP address, and my father has also attempted to recover account from UK home address. I have additionally used multiple devices where the account is requested and frequently used.

I have be blocked out of my account since October 16th when I landed in Antigua and will be here for a long duration. Why Microsoft have done this I have no idea as I travel frequently.

I am at a complete loss with this and require access asap please. This account I have had for nearly 20 years and contains work and personal information I urgently require.

Please advise how I can recover which does not require standard recover procedure as this is not working. I am happy to provide any security information to a member of your team that is required.

Hi Jack, Thanks for posting here in Microsoft community, I understand how stressful it must be to lose access to such an important account, especially while abroad. Since you've already tried the standard recovery steps multiple times without success, I recommend contacting Microsoft Support directly via this link https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/customer-service-phone-numbers-c0389ade-5640-e588-8b0e-28de8afeb3f2 and requesting escalation.

Clearly explain your situation and offer to verify your identity through alternate means.

Also, if your account was flagged due to unusual sign-in activity from Antigua, it may help to mention your travel history and provide any proof of identity or past account activity.

Simply Escalate to Microsoft Support and request manual verification, avoid repeated failed recovery attempts, as this may further lock the account and prepare identity documents and any past account usage details e.g., frequent contacts, folder names, etc. to support your case.

I hope this helps you out, let me know.

Hi Jack, you’re very welcome I'm glad I could help, Regarding the issue where the support page redirects you to your new Microsoft account: this usually happens because you're currently signed in with that account in your browser. Microsoft Support automatically uses the signed-in account to personalize the experience.

To speak with an agent using your original account (or without being redirected), try these steps, Open a private/incognito browser window (this prevents automatic sign-in) then Go to the Microsoft Support Contact Page then Choose “Get Help” and select “Contact Support” after that When prompted to sign in, click “Sign in with a different account” or choose “I can’t sign in” if you want to proceed without logging in then Select “Outlook” > “Account Recovery” and request to speak with a live agent.
