OneDrive has deleted all my Files

When logging onto my computer this morning, I became aware that overnight all my files stored to OneDrive through file explorer had been deleted. I have tried restoring OneDrive to yesterday and uploading all the recycle bin files but I am still missing well over 90% of my files.

The files deleted are extremely important work related files over the past 5 years.

    Hello @Carson Storey,

Thank you for reaching out to the Q&A forum!

To support you better, please provide me more detail:

1.Have you checked the OneDrive Recycle Bin?

2.If you're using a work or school account (OneDrive for Business), have you checked the Second-stage Recycle Bin?

    undefined

This is a hidden layer where files go after being removed from the regular Recycle Bin.

Note: You need to open OneDrive on the Web.

If you've already checked both and still can't find your files, I believe you should receive urgent support from our higher-level technical team; I understand how important these files are to you.

If you're using a work or school account, I highly recommend you raise a support ticket. Our higher-level technical team can assist you more deeply.

To create a Support ticket, the admin can go to: Microsoft 365 admin center

When the ticket is opened, a support engineer can start a remote session to investigate the issue, review the back-end settings, and optionally run a sync tool to resolve the issue.

Find Your Microsoft 365 Admin: If you’re unsure who the Global Admin is within your organization, you can find guidance on locating them here: How do I find my Microsoft 365 admin? - Microsoft Support

Once again, thank you again for raising this issue; it’s helped broaden my understanding. I hope you understand that I want to help as much as I can within the scope of this forum.

I truly hope you’ll be assisted soon by our dedicated technical team.

Note: If this is a personal account, please reply so I can guide you to the appropriate support team.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

    Hello @Carson Storey,

I hope you understand that the steps I provided are specifically intended to help you get in touch with a real person, not to chat with a virtual agent.

    • After click “Help& Support”, you select “Contact Support” instead of “Self Help”.
    • There, you’ll be given two options: Phone and Email. You can choose one of these and follow the steps to create a support ticket.
