Need NV-series GPU VM quota in West Europe for Adobe Captivate deployment

We are a small nonprofit composed of autistic programmers, focused on creating educational and multimedia content for special needs children using Adobe Captivate. Our projects involve heavy video and imagery workloads, which require GPU acceleration to function efficiently.

In addition to our core mission, we are producing a feature documentary about our work, directed by an Academy Award–nominated director and a multi-award-winning studio (https://www.rte.ie/news/connacht/2023/0606/1387158-twins-autism-race/). This documentary will showcase the impact of our programs globally.

To support these initiatives, we need access to NV-series VMs in West Europe to deploy GPU performance and optimize our workflows. This will allow us to deliver high-quality content efficiently and continue our mission of empowering autistic programmers and non verbal children.

Technical requirements summary:

  • NV-series VM (NV12s v3 or NVv4) in West Europe
  • GPU acceleration for video rendering and image processing
  • At least 12 vCPUs and 112 GB RAM

We plan to start with one NV-series VM for testing and then expand if successful. Can this request be approved for quota for NV-series in West Europe and advise if additional steps are needed.

    Hi @Enda Dodd ,

the NVv3 and NVv4 VM series is marked as retiring in the West-Europe region of Azure.

This might lead into limited capacity and maybe it's not easy to get an approval for quota.

The quota request can be done in the Azure portal: Increase VM-family vCPU quotas

Maybe another VM SKU with GPU acceleration works for you as well? There are other VM series in the screenshot above.

    Hi Enda Dodd,

As Andreas mentioned, that’s correct — the NVv3 and NVv4 VM series are marked as retiring in the West Europe region. This may result in limited capacity for these VM families.

    Reference documentations:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/sizes/gpu-accelerated/nvv3-series-retirement

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/sizes/gpu-accelerated/nvv4-series?tabs=sizebasic

These SKUs will continue to function until September 30, 2026.

Could you please confirm if you still intend to use the NVv3 or NVv4 series? If yes, please let us know whether you have access to raise a quota increase request yourself — otherwise, we can raise it on your behalf.

Alternatively, please confirm if you’d prefer to proceed with one of the newer GPU VM series instead of these retiring series.
