Hi,

since some days, I get the error emssage "Error encountered while rendering this message" in MS teams channel for all posts w/ attachements. Simple chat messages without any attachements are not affected, but as soon as I add some file, I got this error.
Also the web app version is affected. The issue occures in all channels.

I still tried to delete the cache in %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams, but didn't help.
Other team members can read the messages without any issues.

    Hello @Gaebler, Christian

Thank you for your detailed feedback and for performing the additional tests. We truly appreciate the effort you’ve put into investigating this issue.

Based on your findings, the problem seems to occur after updating to the latest Microsoft Teams version and affects both the desktop and web app when attachments are involved. Since other users have reported similar behavior after updating, this appears to be an unknown issue introduced in the recent Teams update rather than a device-specific problem.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Your observations are extremely valuable and will help us escalate this matter effectively.

To ensure this issue is addressed promptly and thoroughly, please contact your IT administrator and request them to:

    • Report the issue via Service Health in the Microsoft 365 Admin Center: This will help Microsoft track the impact and provide updates if this becomes a known service incident.

    Hello @Gaebler, Christian

Thank you for providing such detailed information about the issue you’re experiencing. This helps us understand the situation better.

Could you please try the following workarounds:

    1. Quit Teams Completely and Restart (for the desktop app)

    • Close Microsoft Teams.
    • On your taskbar, click the arrow to show hidden icons, locate the Teams icon, right-click it, and select “Quit Teams.”

    User's image

    • After that, relaunch Teams and check if the issue persists.

    2. Sign In on a Different Device

Try logging into your account on another computer or device. While doing so, please also check your internet connection to ensure its stable.

This will help us determine whether the problem is related to your current device or environment.

If you’ve tried these steps and the error still occurs, it’s likely an issue specific to your user account that requires deeper investigation by the backend team. In that case, please reach out to your IT administrator, report this issue, and ask them to open a support ticket with Microsoft via the Admin Center. This will allow Microsoft’s backend team to analyze the problem in detail and provide a permanent fix.

Please let us know the outcome after taking these steps. We’re here to assist you further if needed.

    Hi @Demi-N ,

thanks for your answer. After restart of teams, the issue still exist.

I checked it on another device:
--> With MS Teams app version 25255.703.3978.7153: No issue
--> With MS Teams web app (Microsoft Edge): Same issue.
--> After update MS Teams app version to 25290.205.4069.4894: Same issue

So seems it's not related to the device, but to the MS teams version (and maybe my account)
