Using M365 Business Standard in the Outlook web app, I can add a shared mailbox to the nav pane, however I cannot add that mailbox's inbox (or any other folder) to my favorites. See images below showing my mailbox vs shared mailbox.
This was supposedly resolved in roadmap item 388913 - Outlook: Add Shared Folders to Favorites in the new Outlook for Windows and web

Dear @AM,
Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A forum. We are happy to assist.
The roadmap item you shared refers to shared folders, not shared mailboxes. A shared folder allows you to share one or more folders from your mailbox with other people in your organization. You can set the level of access for each person by granting view-only, edit, or delegation privileges.
There are two types of delegation privileges:
This is different from a shared mailbox. For more details please visit this link: About shared mailboxes, shared folders, and shared calendars in Outlook
Currently, Outlook supports adding folders from your own mailbox to Favorites, as well as shared folders that you have explicitly shared with others. Shared folders allow you to grant specific permissions, such as view-only, edit, or delegation rights, to individuals within your organization. Delegation can include “Send on behalf” or “Send as” privileges.
However, this functionality does not apply to shared mailboxes. At this time, Outlook does not support adding any folder from a shared mailbox to Favorites. This limitation is by-default and differs from the behavior of shared folders.
We understand how convenient it would be to have this capability for shared mailboxes, and we agree that it would greatly improve workflow efficiency. Your feedback is valuable, and we encourage you to share it through the Microsoft Feedback Portal so it can be considered for future updates.
We encourage you to submit feedback directly to Microsoft via the Teams app (Help > Give feedback), or through Feedback Hub by
Go to: Microsoft 365 Feedback Hub > Send Feedback> Describe your proposal in detail.
Sharing your experience through this channel is the most impactful way to advocate for a change that would benefit you and other users.
Thank you again for your patience and for bringing this to our attention. While I can't change the product's design, please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any other questions about its current functionality. Your perspective is important, and I’m confident it will support the continued development of the Outlook experience.
If you need any further assistance, feel free to reach out. We're here to help. Thank you very much for your understanding and your cooperation.
