I recently changed form Classic Outlook to new Outlook. I was excited to try new design unfortunately the conditional format options are not there now.

You cannot add formulas and only the font color can be changed (no size).

When will be these features available?

The new Outlook for Windows currently does not support the same conditional formatting options that were available in the classic Outlook. Features such as adding formulas and changing font sizes are not available at this time. The new Outlook is still being developed, and features are being added regularly, but there is no specific timeline provided for when these particular features will be available.

For the latest updates and feature comparisons, you can refer to the release notes and feature comparison documentation provided by Microsoft.

    Hi @Fernandez, David,
Thank you for posting your question to Microsoft Q&A Forum.

Microsoft is actively enhancing the New Outlook experience. While the current version of New Outlook does not yet offer the full range of conditional formatting options available in classic Outlook, improvements are on the way. Starting January 2026, Microsoft plans to expand conditional formatting capabilities in both New Outlook and Outlook on the web. These updates will allow users to highlight emails based on criteria such as message size, read/unread status, presence of attachments, flags, categories, and importance, bringing greater flexibility and customization to your inbox.

You can stay informed and find the latest updates through the following resources: Microsoft 365 Roadmap | Microsoft 365.

We're continuously enhancing Outlook based on user feedback, and your input plays a valuable role in shaping future updates. If background color formatting is important to your workflow, I highly recommend submitting a suggestion directly from Outlook by navigating to: Outlook (new) · Community portal. This is the most effective way to ensure your voice reaches the product team and can be considered for future improvements.
