I have a 365 business account with an addtional onedrive license.

I was told that i would have 2 TB of available storage for a single user (me). Only 1 TB seems to be available.

How do I link the 365 1 TB and the Onedrive 1TB to get the 2 TB?

To increase your OneDrive storage to 2 TB, you need to ensure that both your Microsoft 365 Business account and your additional OneDrive license are properly configured. Typically, each user with a Microsoft 365 Business account is allocated 1 TB of storage in OneDrive. If you have an additional OneDrive license, you may be able to increase your total storage up to 2 TB, but this depends on how the licenses are set up and whether they can be combined.

Here are the steps you can take:

    1. Check License Assignment: Ensure that your additional OneDrive license is assigned to your account. You can do this in the Microsoft 365 admin center.
    2. Verify Storage Allocation: Sometimes, the storage may not automatically combine. You may need to contact Microsoft support to verify if your licenses can be combined for additional storage.
    3. Contact Support: If you still see only 1 TB available, reach out to Microsoft support for assistance. They can help you understand your current setup and guide you on how to access the additional storage if eligible.

Keep in mind that the maximum amount of OneDrive storage provided to any single user is 25 TB, but this typically requires specific licenses and configurations.

    Hi @Davide Sferrazza,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your question regarding OneDrive storage. I understand you're expecting a total of 2 TB of storage for your account, based on your Microsoft 365 Business subscription and an additional OneDrive license. I appreciate the opportunity to clarify how storage allocation works in this scenario.

Currently, Microsoft does not support combining storage from multiple licenses into a single user account. Each OneDrive license is designed to provide storage for an individual user, and additional licenses typically extend storage for other users within the organization, not stack onto an existing user's quota.

If your goal is to increase storage for your account beyond the default 1 TB, and you're an end user without admin access, I recommend reaching out to your organization's IT administrator or whoever manages your Microsoft 365 licenses. They can:

    • Review your current license setup,
    • Apply a Microsoft 365 Extra File Storage add-on to your account,
    • Or explore upgrade options such as Microsoft 365 E3/E5, which allow for expanded OneDrive storage (up to 5 TB per user upon request).

If you're managing your own subscription and have admin access,

    • Upgrade to Microsoft 365 E3 or E5, which allows for expanded OneDrive storage (up to 5 TB per user) upon request to Microsoft support.
    • Purchase the Microsoft 365 Extra File Storage add-on, which can be applied to increase your storage quota.
    • Utilize SharePoint Online for additional file storage and sharing needs.

I understand this may not be the outcome you were hoping for, and I truly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through it. To help influence future updates, we recommend submitting your suggestion through the Microsoft Feedback Hub.
