1. Use the password reset flow

• Go to https://account.live.com/password/reset and follow prompts
• If his recovery options (phone/email) are outdated or codes aren’t arriving, choose “I don’t have any of these” to continue to recovery.

2. If the flow asks for a method that your friend can’t use or codes don’t arrive

If his verification options don’t work, submit the Account Recovery Form (ACSR):

• Go to Account Recovery Form (ACSR)
• Enter his locked email and an alternate email where Microsoft can contact him.
• Provide as many accurate details as possible, such as old passwords, frequent contacts/subject lines, any billing info and submit from a familiar device/location.
• Wait 24–72 hours for a response. He mays refine and resubmit up to twice per day.
