    Dear @Sarah Smith,
Thank you for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

Excel macros which typically written in VBA are small programs designed to automate repetitive tasks like formatting data, performing calculations, or generating reports. They’re a great way to save time and reduce manual effort.

From your message, it seems you're asking how often macros are used in your weekly workflow—whether they’re part of your daily routine, used occasionally, or rarely. Could you confirm if that’s what you meant?

The frequency of macro use really depends on your role and the nature of your tasks. For example:

    • Daily or Weekly Use: Common for roles involving large datasets, financial modeling, or recurring reports.
    • Occasional Use: Helpful for automating specific tasks or one-off projects.
    • Rare Use: Typical if your work involves simpler spreadsheets or relies mostly on built-in Excel features.

Please understand that our initial response does not always resolve the issue immediately. However, with your help and more detailed information, we can work together to find a solution.

Your detailed response will help us diagnose and investigate the issue more efficiently. If I misunderstood what you’re looking for, feel free to let me know or share a screenshot. I’d be happy to help further!

    Thank you for your cooperation.

When transitioning from a data entry role into a managerial role, my use of macros dropped significantly. Now I'm using more power automate tools to create flows for capturing and having information validated by the proper approval chains. Doing this allows me to create conditional workflows on what happens with the information that's captured.

In my personal life, I still use macros as a way to clean up data from my homelab logs.
