Microsoft 365 E5 Developer Program tenant getting disabled, even though I’ve been actively using it for development and testing.

I logged in recently and found that my tenant is marked as expired/inactive, and access to services is restricted.

    Hi @Noma Ochoa

Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Q&A Forum.

We understand how confusing it can be when your Microsoft 365 E5 Developer Program tenant becomes disabled even though you’ve been actively using it.

Based on the official documentation, the Microsoft 365 E5 Developer subscription is valid for up to 90 days and is automatically renewed if you remain active in development. The renewal process is handled by Microsoft’s internal systems, which evaluate your development activity to determine eligibility.

Please note that, as moderators, we do not have access to the backend tools used to assess activity or to manually trigger a renewal.

If your tenant has already been marked as expired or inactive, we recommend backing up any important data as soon as possible before the subscription and all data are permanently deleted. User's image

If your Microsoft 365 E5 Developer Program tenant is marked as expired or inactive despite your active usage, it may be due to a few reasons. One possibility is that the tenant might have been configured to become inactive after a certain period of inactivity, which can happen if no administrative actions or logins occur within that timeframe.

To resolve this, you can try the following steps:

    1. Check for Notifications: Ensure that you have not missed any notifications regarding the status of your tenant.
    2. Contact Support: If you believe this is an error, you can reach out to Microsoft support for assistance in reactivating your tenant. You can find the global support phone numbers on the Microsoft website.
    3. Review Usage: Make sure that you are consistently using the tenant and that it complies with the terms and conditions of the Developer Program.

It's important to note that if the tenant remains inactive for an extended period, it may be deleted, so timely action is crucial.
