Hello everyone,

I’m experiencing a strange issue. I logged into my Microsoft account and then tried to sign in to Power BI using the same account, but I keep getting an error message. The same problem occurs with SharePoint.

I am using my school account, and as far as I know, these services are free for students. At first, I thought my school subscription might have expired, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

I’ve already tried solutions like disabling proxies and clearing HTML cache, but the issue persists.

Can someone please help me figure out what’s going on?

Thank you in advance!

If you're having trouble signing into Power BI with your Microsoft school account, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Check Account Type: Ensure that you are using the correct account type. Sometimes, users have both personal and school accounts that may look similar. Make sure you are signing in with your school account.
    2. Verify Subscription: Although you mentioned that your school subscription seems active, it might be worth double-checking with your school’s IT department to confirm that your account is still valid and has access to Power BI and SharePoint.
    3. Self-Service Password Reset: If your organization has enabled Self-Service Password Reset, try resetting your password using the Self-Service Password Reset wizard.
    4. Contact Support: If the issue persists, consider reaching out to your organization's internal support team for assistance. They may have additional insights or access to account management tools that can help.
    5. Check for Conditional Access Policies: Sometimes, access issues can arise from Conditional Access policies set by your organization. If you have access to the admin portal, check if there are any restrictions that might affect your sign-in.
    6. Review Application Access: Ensure that your account has been granted the necessary permissions to access Power BI and SharePoint. This may involve checking license assignments or group memberships.

If none of these steps resolve your issue, you may want to refer to the troubleshooting guides provided by Microsoft for more detailed solutions.

    Hello,

Organization accounts are managed by each organization's admin user. Typically you need to troubleshoot with your school's IT support, because each organization's configuration for users/licenses/internal environment and policies are different. From there if IT cannot solve it, they can raise a service request to Microsoft via Admin Center only they can access.

But if you have the exact error message, I am happy to take a look, and determine if it might be just requiring a quick fix on your end, or if you do need to go to your organization IT support.
