Original motherboard got fried, so I just put in a new motherboard. Windows activation is not being found with associated email and I do not have original code. Contact support page is down. Any recommendations?

    Hello,

How did you obtain your license initially?

Did it come with the device preinstalled, or did you purchase it?

If you purchased it, did you purchase from Microsoft, or from third party?

Is it originally a Win7/8 key?

If you've replaced your motherboard and are having trouble activating Windows, here are some steps you can take:

    1. Check for Digital License: If your Windows was previously activated with a digital license linked to your Microsoft account, you can try logging into that account on the new hardware. This may automatically reactivate Windows.
    2. Use the Activation Troubleshooter: Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation and select Troubleshoot. This can help resolve activation issues related to hardware changes.
    3. Contact Microsoft Support: If the support page is down, try reaching out through other channels such as phone support or social media for assistance with your activation issue.
    4. Re-enter Product Key: If you have access to the original product key (which might be on the packaging or in your Microsoft account), try entering it again in the activation settings.
    5. Consider a New License: If all else fails and you cannot retrieve your original activation key, you may need to purchase a new Windows license.

Make sure to keep your Microsoft account details handy, as they can be crucial for recovering your activation status.
