Hello, I am trying to add my child to my family and when I add her email they sent here a verification code. When we try to enter the 6 digit code it says that it’s wrong. We have been resending codes and they all say that the codes wrong.

Thank you.

If the verification code for your child's account is not working, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Ensure Time Synchronization: Check that the clock on the device you are using to enter the verification code is set correctly. If the device's time is not accurate, it can lead to validation issues with the code.
    2. Resend the Verification Code: If you haven't done so already, try resending the verification code. Codes can sometimes expire or fail to deliver properly.
    3. Use the Latest Code: Make sure you are entering the most recent verification code sent to your child's email. Older codes may no longer be valid.
    4. Check Email Folders: Look in the Spam or Junk folder to see if the verification email was misdirected. Confirm that the email address entered is correct.
    5. Alternative Verification Methods: If available, consider using a different verification method, such as a phone number, to receive the code.

If these steps do not resolve the problem, it may be necessary to contact Microsoft support for further assistance.

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

Use a different browser or incognito tab and see if you can add your Child's account to the family group. On the web browser, press CTRL + SHIFT + N to open a private browsing tab.

Sign in to your Child's Outlook.com account to accept the invitation to join your family group.

See if the verification code is accepted when joining your family group.

You can also try connecting your device to a different Wi-Fi network and see if you can add your child to the family group.

If that didn't work, try sending the iniviatation to your child account again.

I'm experiencing the exact same issue. The email from Microsoft with the code hits my childs email account but isn't accepted. Tried tens of times.
