    Welcome Ethan,

Thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A forum. I am sorry to hear about your issue with your Microsoft password not being recognized even after updating.

The primary reason a Microsoft account password may not be accepted is typically due to a synchronization problem, where the new password hasn’t properly synced between Microsoft’s cloud and your local device.

To assist you better, I need to clarify a few things:

    • Have you tried verifying whether your password is correct by logging into your Microsoft account using a different browser, tablet, or phone?
    • which Microsoft service or application you're trying to sign in to? For example, is it Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, OneDrive, or your Windows device itself?

Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

Option 1: Access Windows recovery environment

    • Hold Shift > Click Power > Restart (wait 5–10 seconds to access Safe Mode).
    • Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings.  If the issue still persists, select Reset this PC.

Option 2: Another option is to enable the built-in administrator account, then create a new user account instead

    • After entering Safe Mode, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Command Prompt, then type net user administrator /active:yes > Enter
    • Then, create a new account to access the system.

Option 3: Toggle Airplane Mode at Login Screen to Resolve Network Login Issues

When on the login screen, click on the power button at the lower right and choose airplane mode. Try to log in again.

I'm truly sorry for the issue you're experiencing. I hope the methods mentioned above can help you resolve the problem and ease some of the frustration you're feeling. If you have any further issues, please feel free to reach out to me through this thread. I'm always here to help you.
